Finished
.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-04T10%3A47%3A44Z&se=2026-10-04T10%3A58%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kYfJNU%2FOaDkXCPSZdcqNucFWMDjUUDjo4Q0wac%2BuRJw%3D)
Step 4) Reboot system
BIOS requires a reboot to activate
sudo reboot.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-04T10%3A47%3A44Z&se=2026-10-04T10%3A58%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kYfJNU%2FOaDkXCPSZdcqNucFWMDjUUDjo4Q0wac%2BuRJw%3D)
NOTE: the reboot will take longer than normal as it has to re-initialize and re-configure the device.
Step 5) Configure BIOS
Because the BIOS has been updated, all the configuration settings need to be set again. To do this from an external system run the following command
curl -k -u admin:<password> -H"Content-type: application/json" -H'If-None-Match: "123456"' --data-binary "@5114-Z34-R29_F43-20260115.jq" -X PATCH https://<BMC IP Address>/redfish/v1/Systems/Self/Bios/SD.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-04T10%3A47%3A44Z&se=2026-10-04T10%3A58%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kYfJNU%2FOaDkXCPSZdcqNucFWMDjUUDjo4Q0wac%2BuRJw%3D)
Step 5) Confirm new BIOS
Once the system is online confirm the new bios per below
dmesg | grep BIOSExpected behavior is the bios version (in this case F43) shows up in the log as highlighted below.
.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-04T10%3A47%3A44Z&se=2026-10-04T10%3A58%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kYfJNU%2FOaDkXCPSZdcqNucFWMDjUUDjo4Q0wac%2BuRJw%3D)
Confirm the microcode version per below
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep microcode | uniqExpected value is 0xa101158 as shown below
.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-04T10%3A47%3A44Z&se=2026-10-04T10%3A58%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kYfJNU%2FOaDkXCPSZdcqNucFWMDjUUDjo4Q0wac%2BuRJw%3D)
Step 6) Confirm capture is good
Once the system is back confirm packet capture is operating correctly. e.g. can download newly captured packets from the system.
If the capture is not operating correctly
Run the Step 4) BIOS configuration step again
Reboot the system
Incorrect BIOS settings will cause the capture to not operate correctly (specifically the PCIe lane mappings).
Step 7) Finished
Completed.
